Ontopic has been acquired by Digital Science, and we couldn’t be more energised about what this means for our customers, our technology, and the Ontop community.

Ontopic was founded to solve a real problem: enterprise data is scattered, siloed, and hard to use. We built Virtual Knowledge Graph technology to fix that — letting organisations connect and query data across different databases without the slow and expensive process of moving it first. That mission doesn’t change. What changes is the scale at which we can pursue it.

Digital Science gives us the backing to do more: more integrations, a faster product roadmap, and a closer working relationship with metaphacts — the knowledge graph platform many of our customers already use alongside Ontopic Suite. Peter Hopfgartner will take on a senior product role within Digital Science; Benjamin Cogrel and the full engineering team continue their work on the core Virtual Knowledge Graph engine alongside the metaphactory team at Digital Science. The people you know are staying.

What gets better for you

Ontopic Studio will be integrated with metaphactory. This means you will be able to build and access Knowledge Graphs directly from your existing data sources — in one place, without data duplication or expensive data transformation. We will share more on the integration roadmap soon.

Ontopic is joining Digital Science’s Knowledge Graph Competency group — a dedicated centre of excellence for semantic technology. Our deep academic and technical expertise in Virtual Knowledge Graphs is at the heart of that group. For customers working with complex enterprise data environments, this means faster delivery of new features and deeper integration with the tools you already use.
